Ghost Town:

Ghost Town is my first serious adventure. It's written using the registered version of Adrift V.4 created by Campbell Wild.

It took about two years to complete the game, text, pictures, testing and all.I am not going to reveal a lot about the game, since what is an adventure if you already know what to do or look for?You don't know what's going to happen during the day when you get out of bed in the morning do you?
Playing adventures are the same...
In Ghost town, you have received a letter from a lawyer you've never heard of, telling you that you are the sole benificiary of a great grand father you also have never heard of.The letter asks you to meet an employee from the law firm at a specified address.
Well, the specified address turns out to be a deserted log cabin in the midst of the woods out in the middle of nowhere. As you arrive, you find that you are all by yourself. No lawyer, no nothing... So why not spend the time doing a little excavating?

What some people said about Ghost Town:

Finn....want to tell you I finished Ghost Town and enjoyed playing the game. I expect there are several paths to a sucessful end and Ifll play it again to find them. This game had much more substance than other Adrift games and was more challenging to solve. The graphics were well done and helpful, although I didnft hear any audio other than the opening "Green Sleeves" . Were there any other sounds I should have received? Thanks again & I will be looking forward to playing your next work which I assume will be Through Time.
Thanks and Cheers,
Ron

An epic adventure featuring a captivating story and some wonderful use of art. If you're looking for a long, engaging Adrift experience, it'd be harder to find a better place to start than this.

Nick:
Ghost Town by Cowboy (my former user name) is one of those landmark games in the ADRIFT community. It is the first complete game to fully embrace the graphic ability of ADRIFT. With detailed artwork depicting the scene of every location, Ghost Town takes a step away from the usual IF medium of listing every object. Instead the Player must pay attention to the artwork to pick out things of interest that may or be not be included in the description. This adds a whole new dimension to gameplay while not detracting anything from the storyline. The premise of Ghost Town is to fulfill the final wishes of your Great Grandfather and inherit his entire estate and visit the abandoned gold mining town of Battle Creek. It sounds like a simple task, until you begin to unravel the unsolved mystery of Battle Creek as you discover the morbid secrets of its morbid past... The puzzles in Ghost Town range in difficulty. Some require just a little common sense whilst others require some good old fashioned detective work and in-depth interaction with the environment. The gameplay is not as linear as you might expect, with areas you might miss completely the first time you play. This game is highly detailed and the effort which has been put in to cover every "default" ADRIFT response and every object and/or alias makes the occasional "missing capital letter" easily forgivable. This is a must play for everyone and certainly for those who think if they've played one, they've played them all. Ghost Town raises the bar in the ADRIFT community, so congratulations go to Cowboy, this game has been a long time coming, but well worth the wait

Finally the review in the SPAG. I was in doubt whether I should add this review or not. Not because it's rather harsh on the game, everyone has the right to their opinion. But because the person reviewing it, clearly had no idea of what he was doing. It is obvious that he carries a grudge against Adrift games and he lets it shine through in his review. Further more, the review was written shortly before this issue of SPAG was released, and when he sent it to me, he made it clear that he wasn't going to change anything due to lack of time. Admittently, the game is not the one in a million, or a stroke of genious to be admired for generations to come, but the least anyone could and should expect from a reviewer, is a non biased opinion. During the time he played Ghost Town, he didn't bother to contact me once (although my e-mail was clearly visible in the read me file) other reason I haven't posted the full review here, is the fact that it gives away quite a bit of the plot, and I feel that it might ruin the fun for some.

Should you want to read the review, here's the link. SPAG
